Celebrating in Style

Charity Cycle Ride to Celebrate IPA UK’s 75th Anniversary This is a call to arms for all cyclists in the IPA.

Between 23rd and 26th May next year I am planning a charity cycle ride starting in 2 Region and cycling through 1, 3 & 5 Regions to finish at HQ at Fox Road. The charity will be The Thin Blue Line, who are very eager to get involved. The plan is that 5 x 75 stages are completed ending at Fox Road. I am hoping that Regions south of Fox Road could coordinate and complete something similar coming up to Fox Road from the south of England. If any of you are interested in joining in or willing to assist in the planning of any stages please feel free to get in touch with myself, Neil Hunter, at neilhunter82@googlemail.com It is open to cyclists of all levels and a great way to gather money for our charity. Liverpool and Merseyside Friendship Week and Gala Dinner As part of the 75th Anniversary of the foundation of the organisation by Arthur Troop BEM the IPA in conjunction with the Liverpool and Merseyside Branch are holding a Gala Dinner to be held at The Liner Hotel, Liverpool, on Wednesday 27th August 2025. Costs for the meal, per person, will be £54 including wine. A twin or double room with breakfast, based on two sharing is available for £90 per night from Tuesday 26th August, for up to 3 nights. The local branch will be able to offer some sightseeing activities during your stay at this iconic event, full details will be circulated later. Declaration of interest please to Rob Smith, Liverpool and Merseyside Branch by email rsipalpool@hotmail.com National Clay-Shooting Competition The 75th anniversary Section UK Clay Shooting Event will take place at Cambridge Gun Club on Saturday 13th September 2025. The event is open to all IPA members, family and friends, including children aged 12 years and over. Whether you’re a complete novice or an experienced shot, come along and enjoy a day’s clay shooting. As well as guns, cartridges and ear defenders we’ll provide tea and coffee and a baguette lunch to keep you going. If you’re a shotgun owner, you’re very welcome to use your own gun. The price has yet to be fixed but it’s likely to be around half of what you’d pay to a gun club for a similar day’s shooting. Steve Bretherton - steve.bretherton@icloud.com
