Friendship Through Sport Yvonne McGregor , Section UK VP (Social) Now in its 39th year, the world’s oldest IPA Sporting Event is the Stanley Hanna golf Competition. This is an annual event held in Scotland, between the Scottish and Northern Ireland IPA Regions. T his year we are looking forward to the second running of the IPA’s newest sporting event, the IPA Games. In 2019 they were held in Lisbon, Portugal. Unfortunately, despite a lot of effort, the UK were unable to field a team. But in this, our anniversary year, we will be sending a Table Tennis Team to the games in Montenegro. Each year a Section UK football team visits Poland, where a large number of teams participate in a knockout tournament. Regions and Branches also organise their own local sporting events, so there are lots of sporting activities for Members to join in with. Sadly this year’s sporting calendar had been affected by Corona Virus, but Friendship through Sport will return as soon as it is safe.
