The Section UK National Golf Competition This year’s golf competition was held at Slaley Hall Golf and Spa Resort, Hexham, Northumbria from June 4th-6th. A beautiful venue set high in the Northumbrian countryside. Not even the ‘brutal’ weather on the Wednesday morning could dampen the 23 competitors’ enthusiasm for the surroundings.
With the Count
W hat followed were two days of team and individual competitions over two particularly challenging courses. The Team event was won by Region 10 (Neil Offord, Stewart Gason, Martin De’ath and Julian Cole), whilst the Individual Champion was Region 10’s Julian Cole. In second place was Neil Offord and third place Mark Phillips (just pipping Harvey Whittam to the post of joint third place). The whole event was a tremendous success,
Next year is Section UK’s 75th Anniversary and the golf competition will be held in the London area between 3rd- 5th June, aligning to the annual National Council Meeting. It would be great to make this the best competition to date and really celebrate all that is wonderful about IPA sport.
