Anniversary Tennis Event The International Police Association (IPA) Northern Ireland held a special tennis tournament to mark the 75th Anniversary of Section UK. I t was held at the Belfast Boat Club , which has the most amazing tennis facilities and which PSNI Tennis (Forge Tennis) have used since their inauguration. All serving and retired members of PSNI Tennis are members of IPA so it was an obvious choice of an iconic event to mark our 75th anniversary. Huge thanks to the organising sub-committee who worked so hard to ensure we covered all bases, accommodation deals, transport, sponsorship/fundraising, T-shirts, presentation gifts and incredible dedication to ensure there was zero cost to regional IPA funds. The sub-committee was Ryan Moore, Suzanne Rea, Charles Campos, Mark Kernohan, Nora Campbell and Deirdre Mahony. For No 2 Region IPA the icing on the cake was that our Chief Constable Jon Boutcher agreed to be our Patron for No 2 Region, for which we are tremendously excited and so very grateful.
The Regional chair of IPA is also Chair of PSNI Tennis so there is a happy marriage here of both associations. The weather was glorious, as we managed to coincide NI summer with this event. We were thrilled to welcome so many colleagues from GB and the standard of play was incredible. Although we say so ourselves, we were terrific hosts, and the event was free for members. Homemade lunch was provided each day along with fruit, energy bars and water for grazing, not to mention the shortbread special edition biscuits which caused quite a stir, (if you know, you know). On Day 2 we welcomed one of our sponsors Darrin and Angela Savage, of A1 Recovery, and we had the pleasure of the company of our Chief Constable Jon Boutcher (who stood in for our
