About the books Murder, Witchcraft and the Killing of Wildlife: Police Investigations at the Heart of Africa by Stephen Rabey Matthews In the time of the Belgian Congo debacle, ethnic cleansing coincided with Stephen R. Matthew’s first police posting near the Northern Rhodesia border with the Congo. During this time, and at just 21 years old, Stephen was knifed, ambushed, stoned, wounded by bow and arrow and shotgun and had his hand broken several times. Action- packed, unadulterated stories of those frantic and dangerous years are meticulously detailed here. This young police inspector found himself confronted by fearsome actions and events well beyond his understanding, while serving in the elite police force in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). The Secret Serial Killer: The True Story of Kieran Kelly by Robert Mulhern Robert Mulhern spent three years investigating claims Kieran Kelly, a two-time convicted killer, had in fact murdered 31 people. Kelly’s claims first emerged in 1983 after he killed his cellmate in London’s Clapham Police Station. Under questioning, Kelly confessed to strangling the prisoner, and then confessed to dozens of unreported murders over the previous 30 years. Detectives believed they were in the presence of Britain’s most prolific serial killer, yet Kelly’s claims escaped public scrutiny for three decades. Then in 2015, a former police officer alleged the murders had been covered up by the British Government.
