US Visitors London IPA member Ned Donovan extended the hand of friendship to visitors from USA Chester County Upper Uwchlan Police Department. He met up with them in central London, where they were given a tour of New Scotland Yard. It was a great opportunity to learn about each other’s work and different police work. Upon returning to the USA, Lieutenant Joseph Carr dropped us a few lines about his trip: “Just finished a trip to the UK, and had the pleasure of meeting Ned Donovan from the Metropolitan Police. Ned was gracious enough to provide a tour of New Scotland Yard and we were able to trade stories. “It was interesting to see how things are different (but also kind of the same!) There are other options available for UK visitors as well, such as the IPA night at the Ceremony of the Keys on Tuesdays. Highly recommend that law enforcement officers planning travel consider the benefits of the IPA. I’d also suggest reaching out as soon as possible, preferably even before you settle on dates and arrangements, because you may want to incorporate possibilities from the IPA into your plans.”

IPA Canal Cruise Una Blundell , Devon Branch Secretary A big thank you to Devon Branch member Mike Slade for organising a Canal cruise from Exeter to Exmouth. It was Friday the 13th of September and the only complaint we had was the weather was scorching hot! It was a perfect day for a leisurely cruise which took approximately 2.5 hours allowing for going through the locks and the raising of the Countess Wear swing bridge. At the end of the cruise, we found plenty of places to eat including the River Exe Cafe which is accessible by water taxi only and must be booked in advance - maybe for next time!
