Where is Police Officers’ Headgear Made? Nigel Eagling , Thames Valley Branch Well, the majority, in fact almost all, helmets are made by Christys’ of London and CW Headdress (formerly known as Compton Webb) of Witney, Oxfordshire. Twelve members of Thames Valley Branch visited CW Headdress in March 2022, where we were shown around by two very knowledgeable young ladies, Margareta and Lisa. Almost all helmets are made by CW Headdress. One other firm, called Hobsons, used to make Hertfordshire Constabulary helmets but apparently, they are closing down.

A Plea for Helmet Plates John Bird , East Anglia Branch John Bird is a collector of Police helmet plates, patches and challenge coins.
