We are still in the planning stage given the current situation the country finds itself in. The traditional celebration where Regions and Branches celebrate our founder Arthur Troop will go ahead as usual. In the past there have been celebration coffee mornings, lunches, and dinners where we raise a toast to Arthur and the great work we carry on with. The following is a guide, and very much subject to change, to what we hope will happen 12th December - Visit to Lincolnshire by bus where a plaque will be unveiled by the Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police to Arthur with nibbles and opportunity for some sightseeing then return for an IPA Dinner. 13th December - The usual Member day extravaganza and look at Fox Road and its fabulous archive, competitions, awards and launch of the updated IPA book Service through friendship and other projects. 14th December - Guests depart. 15th December - Coffee mornings, lunches, and dinners where we raise a toast to Arthur. If you are interested in getting involved in Members Day then please drop Sean an email to vphannigan@ipa-uk.org Devon Friendship weekend comes of age Una Blundell , Devon Branch Our Devon Branch Friendship weekend reached its 18th year, and even Storm Dennis could not blow away the friendships made over the years. It was lovely to see old friends and some new faces attending for the first time. Roland Blaney reminded us about our founder Arthur Troop, sharing a photo of himself and Arthur taken many years ago. Co-incidentally Roland also brought an official Hendon photograph, where he is pictured as an Inspector. Stephen Blundell is one of the recruits in the photo; can you spot both of them? Sixty people attended our weekend, and we very much appreciate the long journeys made by friends from various Regions. Our raffle raised £195, which will go towards running our Mayflower Iconic Event. Thank you to everyone who donated so many prizes. Next Year’s Friendship weekend is being planned, Owen Harris is working hard to get the best deal for us. Full details will be published once known. Thank you to Owen for his hard work in organising such a great weekend, our memories and good feelings factor last a long time. between Friday 11 December and Tuesday 15 December. 11th December - Event at Fox Road with evening dinner.
