Let Your Feet Do the Talking

ScarboroughBranchWalkingGroupmade itsfirst outingon Saturday3May. Tenmembers, friends, family and four dogsmet at Cloughtonnear Scarborough. The group set out along theold Scarborough toWhitby railway line to theHayburnWyke, an18th century coaching inn. According to local legend the innwas long associatedwith smuggling. After a short breakat theHayburnWyke for refreshments, the return journey toCloughtonwasmadealong the cliff toppath that forms part of theClevelandWay. This routewas a littlemore challenging for somebut thebreath taking viewsmore thanmade up for theextraeffort required. Thiswas the first of what will bea series ofmonthlywalks, each oneplanned to takeplaceonadifferent day of theweekanda different timeof day.Walking is a fantastic social activity that can involveanybody - including family pets! Cheshire InApril, Cheshirebranchheld their firstmembers’ eventwithawelcome night at theBridgewaterMotorboat Club inRuncorn. Thebranchwelcomed newmembers to theevent and signed up twomoreon thenight. SpikeElliot - our ViceChair, hiswife Helen - our PublicityOfficer, and I spoke toeverybody attending reinforcing theaims and ideals of the IPA. Also in
